Dr. Robert Pearl Added to Faculty at Maui Conference

October 27, 2017

Robert Pearl, MD , an advocate for the power of integrated, capitated, technologically advanced health care delivery, will join the Estes Park Institute faculty at February’s Maui conference.  Dr. Pearl will deliver Sunday’s keynote speech in Maui and participate in a special “working group,” an invitational session designed to push past the partisan debate and create a paper of guiding ideas for use to reform the delivery of health care.

Dr. Pearl is the author of the Washington Post bestseller“Mistreated:  Why We Think We’re Getting Good Healthcare — And Why We’re Usually Wrong,” a roadmap for transforming American health care.  In this fascinating and timely book, he asserts that improving health care starts with understanding the problems.  Improving communication and treatment planning are paramount to reducing common errors and planning preventive care.

As the former CEO of the nation’s largest medical group, The Permanente Medical Group, a part of Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Pearl led thousands of physicians and staff responsible for the medical care of 5 million members.  Dr. Pearl serves on the faculty of Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he teaches courses on strategy and leadership and lectures on information technology and health care policy.  He is a regular contributor to Forbesand has been featured in other publications and news outlets.
