What's Happening

Don’t just gauge your hospital’s future. Change it.
As a long-time Estes Park Institute Senior Fellow, Leland Kaiser’s mission is to inspire, agitate, and provoke hospital leaders to design the best possible health care future.

The ability to accurately predict the future is rare. But what’s even more unusual is the person who–after gaining a glimpse into their own future–is willing to take responsibility for changing it.

That’s where Dr. Leland Kaiser comes in. He’s a recognized psychologist. He’s also a futurist, a person who professionally predicts–or helps invent–a preferred future.

For Dr. Kaiser, it’s simple: “Active futurism is using your board’s imagination to create the future of its choice.”

At the Estes Park Institute, he tells audiences of hospital and health care organization leaders that the most important job of the board of directors is to “decide what’s the most important thing to them—and then do it.”

To see how Dr. Leland Kaiser’s active futurism can help you bring about change within your own hospital, plan to attend an upcoming Estes Park Institute conference.
